Our 519 was designed as a retro version of the popular 613. It is one of our most stylish leather motorcycle jackets, better suited for fashion than for riding. The men's Perfecto 519 leather jackets are made from full-grain cowhide, chrome-tanned and drum-dyed. You’ll find this jacket very comfortable to wear from the moment you try it on! This leather features an oil-and-aniline finish that gives it a vintage, rugged look and a soft “feel.” Like all high-quality Schott leathers, this medium-weight cowhide is tanned and treated to provide many years of use without the need for treatments or conditioners.
Featuring a more contemporary cut, the 519 is sleeker at the arms. We’ve also removed the underarm gussets for a cleaner fit. The design of the open sleeves and rounded shoulders originated in the late 1920s on our first zippered leather motorcycle jacket, the 1928 model. Another change from our original 613 design is the snap button added near the belt loop. This was done to keep the heavy belt buckle in place even when the belt is unfastened. This Perfecto Model 519 motorcycle jacket was designed and crafted for long rides, short rides, and everything in between!
As with all Perfecto leather jackets, Schott uses only the finest, highest-quality leather available. Following the same tradition used in the 1950s, highly skilled craftsmen have hand-cut every panel of the 519. In keeping with its original custom style, Schott designed this jacket to be more fitted than most others for a classic, bold, and sleek look. History
The three-pocket design of the Schott Perfecto One Star dates back to the late 1940s. At that time, this leather motorcycle jacket was simply called the “Perfecto” or the “Beck Model 999” (manufactured by Schott). The small flap pocket for coins began as a custom option offered in the early 1950s. In 1955, this coin pocket became a standard feature of this biker-style jacket known as the “Perfecto One Star.”
Considered the best motorcycle jacket, it caught the public’s attention after Marlon Brando embodied the epitome of cool, wearing his Perfecto in the iconic classic film *The Wild One*. Originally called the “One Star,” it was officially banned in U.S. schools for an entire year in the mid-1950s. Some believe this action helped make the Schott Perfecto even more desirable among young American rebels with their “Wild One” tendencies. School boards wanted to burn it, and young rebels saved every penny to buy one. At the time, this jacket sold for nearly $50, which represented about 100 hours of work for a gas station attendant earning fifty cents an hour!
The asymmetrical leather motorcycle jacket worn by Brando became the quintessential symbol of rebellion for the youth of the 1950s. Orders for this leather jacket skyrocketed, prompting Irving Schott and his son Mel to expand their workforce and enlarge the Schott factory. By the mid-1960s, Perfecto men’s jackets had also taken hold of the emerging rock ’n’ roll movement. Once again, due to rising sales, Schott expanded beyond its current factory on King Street in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. A few new factories later—still in New Jersey—Schott proudly continues to produce this iconic American classic motorcycle jacket for the wild side that lies within us all.

We ship packages internationally via UPS. The total price, including shipping costs, customs duties, and VAT, will be displayed during the final step of the checkout process before you complete your purchase. All fees are already paid here in the store; nothing is due upon delivery (DDP – Delivered Duty Paid).
You can return most items for a full refund within 14 days of delivery. The prerequisite is that the items are returned in new condition (i.e., unworn, unwashed, with all tags attached, etc.). We will cover the return shipping costs if the return is due to an error on our part (you received the wrong item or a defective item, etc.).
You can expect to receive your refund within one to two weeks after the package is delivered to the post office/UPS, but in many cases, it will be faster. This timeframe includes the time it takes for us to receive your return from the carrier (1–3 business days), the time it takes for us to process your return after receipt (1 business day), and the time your bank, credit card company, Postfinance, Twint, etc., need to process our refund request (immediately up to 10 business days).
If you wish to return an item, please indicate whether you would like a refund or an exchange.
All items available for order are generally in stock and can be shipped immediately. If there are any errors, you will be notified right away.
Most, but not all, of the items featured in the online store are also in stock at the physical store. Motorcycle clothing may be put into storage during the winter due to space constraints, just as heavy sweaters, coats, and fall/winter hats may be put into storage during the summer.
Individual items and items on sale are also often in stock.
Red Wing and other shoes are available in the store year-round.

Most items are in stock and available for immediate delivery. For items that are not in stock, the average delivery time is 4 weeks. We will notify you the same day or the next business day if an item is out of stock. Please ask us about stock levels if you need the items urgently.
Orders and rates:
All orders are final. In the event of a delivery delay, you will be notified by email or phone. If the order has not yet been shipped, you may cancel it. Shipments to the EU:
Shipping costs via UPS, customs clearance fees, and VAT are included in the total price (displayed during the final step of checkout). There are no additional charges upon delivery (DDP – Delivered Duty Paid).
Shipping costs for Switzerland / the Principality of Liechtenstein:
Orders with a purchase value of SFr. 100 will be shipped free of charge.
For orders with a purchase value of less than SFr. 100, we charge SFr. 7.00 for standard shipping and SFr. 9.00 for priority shipping.

Return Policy:
If you return the purchased items within 14 days in perfect condition and in their original packaging, we will refund the full purchase price. You are responsible for the return shipping costs.
