SHAPE:
The1920 NEWSBOY CAP is a variation of our BAKERBOY. It has 10% more volume in the head than the BAKERBOY. As a result, the fabric is looser and can be pushed to the side. The 1920 NEWSBOY is a casual cap with a fixed peak that can be easily bent into shape and a soft round head made from eight spittels. A button is sewn onto the top of the head for decoration. The outer fabric is pulled over the peak to the middle. The cap has a 2 cm wide band all the way around.

The 1920 NEWSBOY Shelter Black is woven from high-quality merino wool and comes in a dark blue-black shade to blend in with clothing. The fabric has a weight of 320g and is pleasantly soft. A protective companion for cooler days.

The fabric was woven by the traditional weaving mill Marling & Evans in Northern Ireland. Marling & Evans was founded in the 16th century and quickly developed into one of the most important production sites in the West of England. Marling & Evans processes fabric without dyeing it. Inspired by the desire to produce tweed without any environmental impact, they have developed a process to weave colors and textures into the fabric.

Who hasn't seen them, the old black and white photographs from the turn of the century. Everyone wore headgear: newspaper boys, dock and steel workers, farmers, beggars, criminals, every trade. Only the noble gentlemen and ladies wore hats back then. The numerous variations of caps were intended for busy life, mostly for work, but also for sport. The name Schieberkappe goes back to the old Berlin term "Schieber" for foreman. This type of cap was also rediscovered, now free of prejudices and status, it conquered free spirits and artists. But it still carries a symbol. Because no one can deny that a cap wearer exudes an individuality that would be much less pronounced without it.
